Optimisation Methods
Web site Structure
Looking at your web site from a Search Engine point of view, accessibility is critical. If a Search Engine can't find a page on your site it will not list it, let alone return first page results.
There are a number of things that could cause a page not to be found by a Search Engine. Such problems might be a server issue, a script error on the page or design issues such as complex URL structures.
Popularity
Search Engines love popular web sites, and thus presents the old chicken and egg scenario. How can you become popular so that the search engines will like you if you don't hold the prominent position on the rankings to get visitors?
One of the most important factors the search engine considers is the number of inbound links a site or page has from third party sites. Google provides a credibility score out of ten known as Page Rank to each page it indexes.
Content/Relevancy
Once you have your list of keywords you need to create highly relevant copy for your web site. This content should be regularly updated and should read in such a way that it makes sense to the site visitor.
The method of presentation of content on your side should be carefully considered. You don't want a page full of dull static text, however a Search Engine will find it difficult to locate relevant content if your page is littered with images.
