Why SEO is so important to our business

We recently caught up with Paul Chauveau, MD of The Communications Company, to ask a few questions about his Search Engine Optimisation campaign and how it was going.

Here is what he had to say:

IS: Why did you feel that you needed SEO on your web site?
PC: We noticed that a few of our main competitors were starting to rank very well on the search engines and we felt that this was a huge market that we were missing out on. As internet access had become more accessible we begun to understand that people were moving from traditional methods of finding services, like the Yellow pages, to using search engines such as Google

IS: What were your expectations of SEO?
PC : Our main expectation was to generate more enquiries and sales via the web. We understood that it wasn't going to be an overnight fix, but our patience has been rewarded with a number of good enquiries since we have been listed on page 1.

IS: What do you feel are the benefits of SEO to your business?
PC: Without a doubt it makes us more visible to people who are actively searching for what we offer. We know that we are not wasting money on an advert that people might not be interested in. Naturally, we have seen an increase in sales and enquiries which is really exciting!

IS: What advice would you give to anyone looking to SEO their web site?
PC: It's not an immediate fix and it needs to be done constantly. There is a lot of competition out there who are on the ball and will do whatever it takes to keep their ranking. If you take your foot of the gas for any amount of time you will lose ground on your competition.

IS: If you could ask eSoftware Solutions to do anything differently with your SEO campaign, what would it be?
PC: Nothing! We appreciate the regular updates we get on what activities have been performed and where we rank. We also keep a log of which enquiries have come from the web (it's important to ask people where they heard of you when they call!).
