Top tips to Fool Google!

Ok, who bought into the title? How many of you have gone an bought the latest books, white papers and articles on how to cheat the search engine listings and get that coveted number one spot?

Here is a little advice for you....

Google is the king of the search engines. What Google says go's. Google is Simon in the 'Simon says' world of Internet search. Behind all the technology and algorithms are some of the best minds in the world - so good luck to anyone who wants to try and fool them! As we always say, do your keyword research, have good, fresh content on your site and indexing and site rankings will follow.

It is true that some people claim to have been able to trick Google. However, the majority of the time they have just followed good SEO practices that has helped them up the rankings.

Even if you do manage to trick Google and you ride the waves of the top positions on page one, Google will hunt you down and most likely black list you. Ouch!

In essence, Google is THE power on the Internet. If you get banned from the listing then they won't let you back. You are gone from the shop window and people won't find you.

Now ethically, if you try to fool Google you are actually also fooling your clients. We have all had to deal with clients that want their SEO listings to appear overnight. Educate your customers that Google needs to establish trust with your site, and building trust takes time.

Of course, you can appease your need for a quick fix to SEO traffic by using Google Adwords. Simply load up your account with credit and away you go. However, be warned that research has shown that searchers trust organic results much more than cash cow corporate businesses buying positions through sponsored links.

Why is Google so mean?

Google has established itself on the Internet through years of hard work. People trust the content that it delivers in search results and therefore has reputation to uphold. That is why the Google algorithm is constantly changing - it keeps us all on our toes!

The message is simple - stick to best practice techniques and you will prosper. Make sure you find a good SEO Agency who you can trust.
